The Portland Trail Blazers announced they will wear a commemorative jersey band throughout the entire 2026-27 season to honor late franchise legend and Hall of Famer Rick Adelman.
Adelman, who passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 79, left an indelible mark on Rip City as both an original member of the inaugural 1970 team and a visionary head coach who led the franchise to NBA Finals appearances in 1990 and 1992.
In addition to the season-long jersey patch, the organization will host a special tribute night on December 15 when the Denver Nuggets visit the Moda Center, celebrating Adelman’s lasting legacy, leadership, and profound impact on the game of basketball.
