Wilt Chamberlain Rookie Jersey Sells For $1.79 Million

Filmmaker Rob Gough recently made history by acquiring NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain's rookie season uniform from his time with the Philadelphia Warriors.

The uniform, consisting of a jersey and shorts, fetched a great price of over $1.79 million at auction, setting a new record for any vintage basketball attire predating 1980.

During the 1959-60 season, Chamberlain proudly donned this iconic uniform for every home game, five playoff matches, and several games held at neutral venues, ultimately earning him the esteemed titles of league MVP and rookie of the year.

To ensure its authenticity, three reputable sports memorabilia companies verified and photo-matched the uniform, giving it a perfect "A10" grade, indicating that it remains unaltered and impeccably preserved since Chamberlain last wore it.
