Lakers Will Retire LeBron James Jersey Number

In an interview with Sportskeeda, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss talks about the retirement of LeBron James shirt numbers for the LA Lakers - 6 & 23.

LeBron James is about to go into his sixth season with the franchise, and he wore numbers 6 and 23 during his first five seasons with the team. Jeanie Buss confirmed that his jerseys will hang from the rafters once he enters the Hall Of Fame.

Buss said: "The standard for having your jersey retired as a Laker is when a player is inducted into the Hall of Fame. I have absolutely no doubt that LeBron will make it into the Basketball Hall of Fame. When he does so, then we will retire his jersey. Knowing that he will make it into the Basketball Hall of Fame, he will have his Lakers jersey retired, no doubt about it."

The question is whether the Lakers will retire both jersey numbers or only one. And If only one, which one? Buss said that this is a "topic for another time." The Only Lakers player to have both his numbers retired is legend Kobe Bryant, with 8 & 24.
