Georgia Unveils Historic EuroBasket 2025 Jerseys with National Language Front and Center

When Georgia‘s men’s national basketball team takes the court for EuroBasket 2025, their national pride will be on full display in a way it never has been before. The Georgian Basketball Federation has released its new jerseys for the tournament, featuring a landmark update that celebrates the nation's unique cultural identity.

For the first time in the team's history, the name of their country "საქართველო" (Sakartvelo) will be printed across the chest of their jerseys in the native Georgian language. This significant change moves away from the English "Georgia" used on all previous uniforms, marking a proud moment for the team and its supporters.

Georgia 2025 EuroBasket Home Jersey:

While the script is a historic update, the core design of the Macron-made Georgia 2025 Home Jersey is pretty similar to the previous jersey. The jersey is mainly white while featuring two-tone grey striping on the collar and armholes.

Georgia 2025 EuroBasket Away Jersey:

The Georgia 2025 EuroBasket Away Jersey keeps the similar design with the updated script on the front. The Jersey is predominantly red and features the same design as the Home Jersey, with the two-tone striping on the collar and the armholes being red.

This marks another chapter in the partnership between the federation and Italian sportswear brand Macron, which began outfitting the Georgian national teams in 2023. Prior to this agreement, the team wore uniforms made by global giants Nike and Spalding.

Comparison:

While the new Georgia 2025 jerseys look really familiar to the previous edition , the collar has been updated to an round neck-version compared to a v-neck version in 2023.

The new jerseys will make their official debut at the 2025 edition of EuroBasket, which tips off on August 27 and is co-hosted by Cyprus, Finland, Poland, and Latvia. Georgia is set to compete in a challenging Group C alongside co-host Cyprus, Italy, defending champions Spain, Greece, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
