Brand New NBA In-Season Tournament Revealed
Yesterday, The NBA officially unveiled all the details, groups and dates for the brand new In-Season tournament that is set to be held later this year. The 2023 NBA In-Season tournament will start on 3rd November and will end on the 9th December.
The tournament
Phase 1: Groupstage
The 15 teams in each conference were divided in to three groups consisting of five teams via a random drawing. The groups are as following:
Every team plays each other team in the group once, the games will count towards the regular season. (2 at home, 2 on the road). Games will be played every Tuesday and Friday in November expect for Election Day (7th November). Eight teams will then advance to the Knockout stages (group winners & 2 of the best second placed teams).
Phase 2: The knockout stage
The knockout games are elimination games and are set to take place in the home city of the higher seed. The best 4 teams will advance to the next phase, The Semis.
Phase 3: Semis & Championship
The Semis & the Championship game will take place between the 7th and 9th December in Las Vegas. The champion will be crowned on the 9th december, the final game does not count towards the regular season record.

Prize Pool:
For the 2023-24 season, the In-Season Tournament prize pool will be allocated to the players on the teams that participate in the Knockout Rounds, depending on how far a team progresses in the tournament.
At the conclusion of the In-Season Tournament, the NBA will announce the Most Valuable Player of the competition and the All-Tournament Team.
