Central Division: Inspiration behind 22-23 City Edition Jerseys

Following the article about the Atlantic Division, here is the inspiration behind every NBA 22-23 City Jersey of the Central Division. This is part 2 out of 6 in this series. Thanks to @camisasdanba .

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago River bed has two tributaries that, if seen from above, form an Y. The uniform has several small Y’s in the white part, and the red represents the color of the bridges that cross the river.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers 22-23 City Edition uniform draws inspiration from the physical make-up of Northeast Ohio. It showcases the wordmark “The Land,” which is the a popular nickname for Cleveland.

Detroit Pistons

The jersey honors St. Cecilia's Gym, a historic gym that is considered as the the "Mecca of Basketball" by the Detroit community. It has a green plate at the entrance, hence the color of the uniform. It is said that every great Michigan player needs to play in St. Cecilia's Gym.

Indiana Pacers

The jersey pays hommage to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena. Find out more about it here.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks 2022-23 City Edition uniform is inspired by one of the most diverse and distinctive neighborhoods in the city, Bronzeville. The neighborhood is the African-American economic, social and artistic hub of Milwaukee, bringing together all ethnicities to celebrate the African-American culture.
