NBA Introduces Rookie Debut and Gold Logoman Patches for 2025-26 Season

The new NBA jersey patches will initially be attached to the NBA jerseys worn during games, but will later be removed and used on trading cards. This is actually quite strange, as it destroys the jerseys worn during games, but card manufacturer Topps makes a lot of money from cards, so the patches end up on cards...

Rookie Debut Patch:

Every rookie will wear this patch in their first NBA game. Afterward, it’s removed from the jersey and turned into a 1-of-1 autographed trading card, set to release in 2026. Top rookies, like Cooper Flagg, are expected to generate major collector interest.

Gold Logoman Patch:

Award winners from 2024-25 [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (MVP), Stephon Castle (Rookie of the Year), and Evan Mobley (Defensive Player of the Year] will wear these gold patches. Some will later appear on Topps trading cards.

This marks a new era where NBA game moments and collectible cards intersect, following similar programs in MLB, MLS, WWE, and UFC.
