The Sacramento Kings announced they will wear a commemorative black band on the upper-left shoulder of their jerseys throughout the 2026–27 NBA season to honor Hall of Fame coach Rick Adelman. Adelman cemented his legendary status in Sacramento from 1998 to 2006 by leading the team to eight consecutive playoff appearances, securing a franchise-record 395 regular-season victories, and orchestrating the electrifying "Greatest Show on Court" era. His ties to the organization also trace back to his playing days with the Kansas City-Omaha Kings during the 1973–74 and 1974–75 seasons.
